Eileen Haas had a hemorrhagic stroke eight years ago. It changed her life dramatically, affecting everything and ending her career. A former editor and copywriter in the magazine and advertising worlds, she was used to being among the best in her field, strong, independent, in demand. All that changed in an instant. For a while, it seemed as if her career—if not her life—was over.
Then she slowly began to recover and found that she could do a lot more than she thought. Including starting another career as a writer. “I was always a writer,” she says. “I just used my talent differently before my stroke.” She found she could also do a lot of things that once had given her pleasure. Today, while far from perfect, she has a whole new life, a good one.
This book is an inspirational memoir. It details how Eileen slowly and fitfully got over her stroke, dusted herself off, and started life anew. She has lived on the West Coast for almost all of her adult life and is still there.
